More details are emerging today about the horrific tragedy that unfolded in the quiet village of Ballyjamesduff yesterday morning.
Alan Hawe, the alleged perpetrator of the massacre, reportedly pinned a note to the back door of the house asking that the next person who called to the house contact Gardai.
It is understood that a male relative found this note and called Gardai.
Mr. Hawe was the vice principal at Castlerahan National School. His wife Clodagh, who was also a teacher, worked at Oristown National School near Kells, Co Meath.
