Some distressing CCTV footage has emerged showing a suspected rapist carrying an unconscious woman across the street. The victim agreed to have the footage released in a bid to find her attacker.
The suspect can be seen carrying the limp body of the 25-year-old woman across Tennant Street, Birmingham, on 19 October 2014, minutes before she was raped. The crime was reported to officers a short time later when a member of the public found the woman highly distressed.
Police have said they also want to trace a man with dwarfism who is thought to be called Kevin. He was with the woman shortly before she was attacked. He is believed to be white, in his 20’s, with short dark hair. Police said the offender is “known to be a black man” and are urging the public to come forward with any information they may have.
The woman had shown “remarkable courage” by allowing the release of the footage, West Midlands Police said.
