Censorship? Direct Democracy candidates claim they’re excluded from radio debate in favour of Fine Gael establishment

Local council candidates Chris Faulkner and Anthony Connor, both from Drogheda, Co. Louth and running for Direct Democracy, claim that they were purposely excluded out of a debate with fellow candidates because of censorship of their views.

Faulkner, who is one of Ireland’s youngest candidates, posted on Facebook:
“Ireland 2019 where Censorship is ripe and Democracy is little to none, well at least, for those of us who will question those corrupt Politicians and Oligarch’s at the top of the ladder. At least for those of us who offer new Politics, politics for the people and not vested interest’s, for those of us who offer change!!”

“I’ve been excluded from podcasts and debates, just recently by Lmfm who stated myself and my colleague Anthony Connor simply didn’t get our names “picked from the hat”. Yet Labour did, Fianna Fail did, Fine Gael did, the Green Party did, the “Independents” did, Sinn Fein did. They all got to pitch their Local Election pledge’s and speech’s to the people, we’ve been undemocratically prohibited from doing so.”

LMFM allegedly told the candidates that it was just the luck of the draw and that both of their names just happened to not have been picked out of a hat. Our readers can take from that what they will.
