A 100 year old man went through a very distressing experience yesterday evening, after three masked thugs entered his house in Strabane, Co Tyrone, on Friday evening and robbed money out of his pockets.
The men gained entry via a back door. They quickly removed the panic button hanging around the victim and robbed his money. They did not touch anything else in the house, and left the man physically unharmed but shaken.
The victim, identified locally as Pat Gillespie, believes the attackers were known to him, as they seemed to know that he carried money on him.
Mr. Gillespie is a well known person in the locality.
