Tailbacks in Dover were seen over the weekend initially with lorries trying to get their goods to and from the port but then with a major rush of both European and UK travellers trying to leave the port.
European residents are now no different to UK residents in relation to travel, in other words, they’re not allowed to leave the UK and return to the UK either.
Flights in and out of the UK have also been halted for the vast majority of travel. Supply chains are going to continue but on a very rationed basis until at least December 23rd.
The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is due to give an update on the latest strain later today.
