Cheers Eamon! ‘Perfect storm’ see €2 per litre fuel back in prospect

In recent times, there have been several ‘perfect storms’ as the term is known, reports RTE.

Delays in the supply chain combined with the conflict in Ukraine raised oil and inflation costs, which in turn raised interest rates.

Since then, inflation has decreased, and central banks are now seen to be about to lower interest rates from their most recent highs.

However, the storm fronts on petrol forecourts could be building up again, reports RTE.

Oil prices are rising once more as a result of the conflict in the Middle East and Ukraine as well as the major countries’ better-than-expected results.

Additionally, the government has been raising excise taxes after temporarily lowering them two years ago.

All of which is causing the neon signs’ costs to start climbing significantly once more, reports RTE.
