Chicken lovers are still feeling the pain of withdrawal, as at least 300 KFC branches remain closed due to an acute shortage of raw material.
Problems with the distribution of raw chicken arose after KFC partnered with a new delivery firm, which has so far been unable to cater for the enormous demand for chickens.
The shortage of poultry sparked panicked calls from regular customers who could not get their usual chicken fix on a timely fashion, with some going as far as contacting police to vent their frustration.
Some so-called ‘influencers’ have issued calls for calm through YouTube and other social media outlets.
