Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan calls on the public to do what they can to surpress virus by December 1st




The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has called on the public to do what they can in order to surpress the virus by December 1st.

Speaking at the National Public Health Emergency Team briefing, Dr Holohan said that efforts to surpress the spread of Covid-19 have stalled over the last week despite positive signs in the weeks before hand.

Holohan who says the reproductive number could be brought below 0.5 on December 1st called on the public to continue social distancing, hand washing and to cut social contacts in order to stop the spread of the virus.

He also urged people to work from home if they can as we enter the last two weeks of Level 5 restrictions.
