The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has urged the public to be cautious as restrictions begin to be eased.
Speaking ahead of the easing of restrictions next week, Dr Holohan said the public should avoid crowded settings and prioritise being outdoors.
Dr Holohan said the next few weeks will be critical as the choices we make now will be vital in minimising the incidence rate over May and June.
He added that people should avoid crowds and prioritise being outside.
