Disneyland has come in for some criticism over its revamped Snow White ride.
In a story that has garnered attention across the globe, the house of mouse has been left answering questions after one U.S publication questioned the company around issues of consent.
In a review of the new ride which was redeveloped during the Covid-19 pandemic, SFGate.com questioned the iconic scene where Snow White is kissed by prince charming as she lays asleep.
The publication states that the iconic company has already a number of issues surrounding consent in its classic content and question why the scene was allowed to be shown on the new Snow White’s Enchanted Wish ride.
SFGate stated that the scene shouldn’t be included in the ride as it raises issues about consent saying: “Teaching kids that kissing, when it hasn’t been established if both parties are willing to engage, is not OK?”
They went on to say: “A kiss without her consent, while she’s asleep which cannot possibly be true love if only one person knows it’s happening.”
However despite the publications views on the iconic scene, many people have criticised the review stating that it is nothing but cancel culture that has gone too far.
Meanwhile others say the scene is from a cartoon from different era.
