An attempted child snatcher was caught in the act in Germany after he grabbed a two-year-old girl and carried her away from her mother who was temporarily distracted in a Berlin park.
The 44-year-old man who has not been named was filmed grabbing the girl and attempting to flee but another woman in the park along with a shop owner confronted him and led the man, who was intoxicated, back to the area where the toddlers distraught mother was frantically searching for her.
While rescuing the girl one of the two good Samaritans managed to film footage of the kidnapper which showed the girl being carried on his shoulders.
The man was then arrested by police who refused to hold him and said that conditions for issuing an arrest warrant had not been met, much to the dismay of the mother and the two heroes who saved the little girl from an unknown fate.
While Bild reported that the man is known to police and is considered to be mentally ill it is not known if he is a paedophile or registered sex offender.
