Chilly Bank Holiday ahead as Met Eireann forecasts frosty and icy conditions




Motorists have been advised to take extra care whilst on the roads over the coming Bank Holiday weekend as temperatures are expected to plunge in the coming days.

According to Met Eireann, frosty and icy conditions are expected over the weekend as a cold snap is expected move across the country.

The national forecaster say the cold weather will begin as early as tonight with temperatures expected to drop to as low as 0C.

Although Friday is expected to see showers throughout day, temperatures are expected to plummet overnight with widespread frost and some icy patches expected.

Meanwhile the weekend is expected to be cold throughout with highs of 7 to 10C during the day and temperatures in the slow single digits overnight.
