It is to be a clash of superheroes in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ that will see the star spangled captain and Iron Man go head to head.

Due for release this May, it sees political interference in the Avengers’ activities cause a rift between former allies Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey JR).

The film is set to see the Marvel Universe characters at each other’s throats. On board is yet another Spiderman, played by Tom Holland, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

As well as that we have Paul Rudd as Ant Man, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Emily VanCamo as Sharon Carter/Agent 13 and even Martin Freeman as a character named Everett Ross.

We also have Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, Frank Grillo, William Hurt and Daniel Brühl in the movie.

Superheroes are ten a penny now, with dozens of films and even TV series doing the rounds. It seems to be a case of when and not if the bubble will burst. The films are trying to fit too many characters into the running time of your average blockbuster.

We last saw Chis Evans (34) as Captain America in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultro’; in 2015. His last solo outing was in Captain America: Winter Soldier’ in 2014. He even turned up for a cameo in surprise hit Ant-Man last year.

Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team.

The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
On the Marvel website it is stated that: “Anthony & Joe Russo are directing with Kevin Feige producing. Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Patricia Whitcher, Nate Moore and Stan Lee are the executive producers. The screenplay is by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely. Get ready to pick a side and join the nonstop action playing out on two fronts when Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War”.

It opens in U.S. theaters on May 6.
