It’s understood that those who are eligible to receive a welfare Christmas bonus will do so in early December, more than likely the first week following November is when the payments will start to be dispensed.
The Christmas Bonus will be paid to welfare recipients in early December, it has been confirmed.
The bonus amounts to an extra 100% of the corresponding weekly payment.
The Government estimates that around 1.4m people across Ireland will receive the bonus, with a normal welfare recipient receiving around €204 a week.
