Churches are looking at a booking system for Mass due to numbers being restricted from social distancing

It’s one of the last pillars of society to reopen after the pandemic, but Churches will finally be allowed to reopen for Mass and other services from June 29th.

It’s understood however that social distancing will initially make attendances lower than normal due to people having to remain 2 metres apart.

Guidelines show that a Church that can hold, for example 900 people, will be down to 100 people.

It’s also understood that Confirmations and First Holy Communions will be going ahead but will be spread over a period of time so that everyone can attend, just on different days and times.

However as with everything else, over time Mass attendance will be allowed go back up to full capacity, it will just take some time.
