Great news from Munich where Ireland’s Ciara Mageean has won a silver medal in the 1500m final at the European Championships.
According to RTE, Ms. Mageean ran a season’s best to take silver after having been heavily tipped to win a medal before the final started.
In other good news from the competition, Letterkenny man Mark English qualified for the final of the 800m and the Irish women’s 4x400m team also made it to the final. Louise Shanahan is also in the running for a medal as she qualified for the final of the 800m.
It was disappointment for the Ireland’s men’s 4x100m team who failed to qualify for the final despite making a great effort.
