Flames and fury engulfed Citywest tonight as 1,800 protesters stormed the migrant hotel’s perimeter, igniting bins and clashing violently with 500 riot-geared Gardaí in the wake of a 10-year-old Irish girl’s savage rape by an African asylum seeker. The village, once a peaceful commuter haven, descended into anarchy under a hail of rocks, petrol bombs, and deafening chants of “Irish lives matter!”

The horror unfolded Monday at the €148.2 million State-purchased Citywest Hotel, a IPAS hub for 1,900 international protection applicants. The  suspect from North Africa, deported in March after a failed claim, allegedly ambushed the Tusla-fostered child during a playground visit. Tackled by witnesses, he faces life imprisonment under the Criminal Justice (Sexual Offences) Act 2017. The girl, critically injured with internal wounds, fights for life in Temple Street Children’s Hospital under 24/7 protection.

“Our daughters aren’t safe anymore!” screamed protester Mary O’Brien, 42, as crowds toppled fences and daubed “Rapist Haven” on walls. Tricolours flew amid Celtic chants; gardaí fired 200 rubber bullets, hospitalizing 15 civilians and eight officers. Drones captured the bedlam live on RTÉ.

Minister for Justice Jim O’Callaghan decried the assault as unforgivable, announcing immediate deportations for failed claimants and extra patrols. As helicopters circled, locals vowed an all-night vigil, signalling a seismic shift in Ireland’s migration debate.
