The University of Cambridge has published a study possibly linking climate change to the spread of Covid-19 in the Science of the Total Environment journal.
Scientists studied 100 years of historical temperature, rainfall and Bat population data and found climate change caused 40 Bat species relocating to specific areas in China, Laos and Myanmar.
According to RT, the Cambridge scientists say this relocation of the bat pollutions caused by climate change created a Covid-19 hotspot in the area with the bats carrying around 100 strains of the virus.
The scientists recommend governments around the World to “address urban expansion” as this would help to reduce the risk of another global outbreak like Covid-19.
The study did not elaborate on on how exactly governments can address urban expansion.
