Clock is ticking down: Hurricane Ophelia set to carve a path of destruction when it lands in Ireland on Monday

Time is running out fast, as Hurricane Ophelia maintains a steady course towards Ireland.

Storm-force winds and high seas are expected when the weather system slams onto Ireland’s landmass, and citizens are advised to exercise extreme caution while outside.

Conditions will remain relatively settled and mild throughout Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures expected to hit 20C at times, and occasional widespread showers.
