CNN senior international correspondent Clarissa Ward called a group of Taliban activists “friendly” as they screamed “Death to America” on the streets of Kabul.
In a newscast broadcast, the journalist interviewed several Afghan insurgents and citizens after the capital’s fall and once called the situation “utterly bizarre.”
“They’re just chanting ‘Death to America’, but they seem friendly at the same time. It’s utterly bizarre,” she told the audience.
Later, Ward commented that her “presence” on the streets created “tension” because she is a woman.
