Minister Heather Humphries is latest Fine Gael minister to come under fire after revelations that a massive 18% of a national improvement fund went to her own constituency




Revelations that 18% (€1.9m) of the entire national budget of 10.5m for the Local Development Scheme was allocated to the Cavan / Monaghan constituency.

The Cavan / Monaghan constituency happens to be the constituency of Rural Community and Development Minister Heather Humphreys (Fine Gael).

According to the Irish Examiner, Sinn Féin spokesperson on rural development Claire Kerrane said the minister has “serious questions to answer around funding allocations for rural investment”.

To put the 18% allocation in context, County Cork with the biggest road network of any county in Ireland received 4 times less funding than Minister Heather Humphries constituency.
