#1 Carjacking: Mother and 3-year-old son in hospital today after theircar is struck by speeding carjacker.

The incident happened in the Donabate area of Dublin. A man in his 30s driving a stolen car collided head on with another vehicle, occupied by a woman and her young son.

The woman sustained severe leg injuries in the crash and was rushed to Beaumont hospital. The child suffered facial injuries and was taken to Temple Street Hospital.

The driver of the stolen car received serious head injuries and was also taken to hospital.

#2 Road crash: One man dead and three others injured in two-car collision in Co. Galway last night.

The accident happened at around 20:30 last night, near Ballinasloe.

A man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. The female driver of the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The two occupants of the other car were also taken to hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

#3 Dublin Airport fire: A fire within the Burger King premises at Dublin Airport forced the evacuation of Terminal 1 yesterday evening.

There were no injuries reported and services are back to normal. The cause of the fire has not been established.

#4 Budget: No new taxes or spending cuts in the upcoming Budget, it has been announced.

Government sources state that the deficit targets can be achieved without any extra taxes or spending cuts.

#5 Ebola: US troops to aid in Ebola fight in Liberia.

Four new Ebola testing labs run by military personnel are now on the ground in worst Ebola-hit West African country of Liberia. These labs will help to diagnose and treat patients more efficiently.
