Coillte asks people to be extremely careful not to accidentally start forest fires over the Easter holiday




Cigarette butts, disposable barbecues and even arson are all reasons behind major forest fires that have occurred in Ireland over the past 5 years.

Coillte have requested that people take extreme care over the Easter holiday so that Fire services aren’t called to heavily forested areas.

It’s understood that some 6,000 acres of land have been burned or affected by fires since 2016.
