The national forecaster has issued its weather prediction for the next few days.
The run up to Christmas is likely to be cold and wet, with plenty rain on Monday and Tuesday, and daytime temperatures of between 7-9C, dropping down to below zero after dark.
Christmas Day itself is expected to be a cold but bright day to start with, though a band of rain will cross the country from the southwest later in the day. Daytime temperatures will hover at around 6-9C.
