The cold spell is set to last until Friday, but Met Eireann says that ‘milder than average’ weather is on its way.
Freezing temperatures will be predominant over the next 48h, as the thermometer plummets to -1 or -2C at night. It will remain mostly dry, however.
According to the national forecaster, Saturday might see daytime highs of 12C, with mild conditions likely next week.
