Slovakia has begun a plan to become the first country in the world to test its entire population for Coronavirus.
Beginning on Saturday, over 45,000 medical workers and police are to be dispatched across Slovakia to test the country’s 5.4 million people according to France24
Testing is not mandatory, though fines can be given to those unable to present a negative test result. Critics in Slovakia say the government’s plan is poorly planned, with large queues reported at testing centres leading to social distancing concerns.
Slovakia is following the European trend of rising Covid-19 cases, though is below the EU’s average.
