Coldplay fan avoids jail for ‘lashing out’ at medics and garda during Croke Park gig

After “lashing out at medics and causing trouble” during the band’s sold-out show in Dublin’s Croke Park, a Coldplay fan has avoided going to jail, reports Breaking News.

The hits-filled chart-toppers Fix Yellow is on a world tour with you called Music of the Spheres.

Kieran Graham, a 24-year-old father from Liverpool, went to Dublin to see the first of the English rock band’s four-night performance series.

Following Graham’s Friday plea of guilty to public order charges at Dublin District Court, Judge Mark O’Connell fined the support worker €500, reports Breaking News.

At the Thursday night performance, which drew over 80,000 people, an intoxicated Graham started “lashing out at medical staff trying to render assistance” to him.

Police Adam Hannan said in court that he tried to help, but Graham retaliated violently against him and the medical personnel, withholding his identity and address.

Despite being taken into custody “and handcuffed and for own safety,” the medical staff decided he didn’t need to be sent to the hospital, reports Breaking News.

After being taken to the Garda station on Store Street, he was charged and appeared in court the next day.

Judge O’Connell observed that the defendant was entering an early guilty plea and had no past convictions.

Michael French, the defence attorney, noted that Graham expressed regret deeply, reports Breaking News.

The attorney said that “With the amount of alcohol consumed during the day, he was unsteady on his feet, which should have served as a warning sign to my client, it didn’t” .

“He was highly intoxicated,” the court heard. The solicitor said. “He woke up this morning in a cell; his hands were all yellow, there were no clocks in the stations in the station, he did not know where he was, and was completely lost,” reports Breaking News.
