A newly established Low Pay Commission will soon be providing advice to the Government on possible changes to the minimum wage.
The commission will comprise nine members, and will look into a wide array of issues surrounding the current minimum wage in Ireland, and how any potential changes to it may affect society as a whole.
Issues like changes in earnings since the last increase in minimum wage in 2011, employment and unemployment rates, etc., will be taken into consideration.
Once those matters are discussed, the commission will make a recommendation.
