
Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney has confirmed that a €2m assistance program for farmers affected by flooding has been put in place today.
Application forms are available on the department’s website, from the department’s local office network and in Teagasc offices, where advisors will provide help for those who wish to avail of the support program.
It is understood that the scheme will apply to the loss of silage, hay, straw and concentrates damaged by flooding, abd which may not be covered by insurance.
The closing date for applications is January 22nd.
