The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has congratulated newly elected British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and a superb win in Thursday’s UK elections.
RTE report that the two spoke by phone on Friday evening with Varadkar congratulating Johnson on his election victory.
The two agreed that there was now a significant opportunity to restore the Good Friday Agreement institutions and say that they will now work with the Northern Ireland parties to achieve this goal.
