The world’s leading media publications ran headlines from one corner of the world to the other about

Entertainment website TMZ are now reporting that Conor McGregor slapped a fan’s phone from their hand, stomped it several times and then picked it up and walked away with it.

It’s reported that at 5 AM Monday, a fan of the MMA star was walking out of the hotel Fontainebleau in Miami Beach at the same time as Conor was. The fan allegedly tried to take a photo, but it must be stated that in fairness to Conor no one knows for sure what exactly happened here.

TMZ say Conor slapped the fan’s phone out of his hand, causing it to fall to the ground. McGregor then allegedly stomped on the phone several times, damaging it.

According to the entertainment site, Conor McGregor then picked up the phone and walked away with it leading the fan to phone the police and report the incident.

Police went to Conor’s residence and arrested him an hour later.

He’s been booked for robbery/strong-arm and criminal mischief over $1,000. He is currently being held on $12,500 bail.

Conor McGregor’s lawyer, Samuel Rabin, released an official statement, which was published by MMA Fighting.

“Last evening Conor McGregor was involved in a minor altercation over a cell phone that resulted in a call to law enforcement,” the statement said.

“Mr. McGregor appreciates the response of law enforcement and pledges his full cooperation.”
