In the UK, Conservative MP Alexander Stafford has called for Lord Ahmed of Rotherham to be stripped of his title, saying that the convicted child molester’s peerage is “an insult to his victims”.

According to Breitbart News, Stafford told the “Rotherham Advertiser” that in his view it is opinion it is completely unacceptable for a paedophile to hold a peerage and he should be stripped of it immediately.

Lord Ahmed was elevated to the House of Lords in 1998 when then-Prime Minister Tony Blair recommended it.  He represented Labour until 2013.  At that time he had made comments blaming a Jewish conspiracy for his situation in 2009 when he was convicted of dangerous driving over an accident that killed a 28-year-old father of two.

In the past the House of Lords Conduct Committee and Commissioner for Standards accused him of “sexually assaulting” a member of the public who asked him for help.  A worse scandal was looming however as a jury convicted him of the buggery of a boy under 11 as well as the attempted rape of a young girl in the 1970s.

A petition has been started in the UK to have his peerage removed.
