The Department of Education have confirmed that a new contractor has been found to complete the building of three schools in counties Wexford and Wicklow.

In announcement made this evening the education minister Richard Bruton has confirmed that a new contractor has been found to complete work at Loreto College in Wexford.

The new contractor will also finish work at Coláiste Raithín and Ravenswell Primary School in Bray.

They will also look to complete work at schools in counties Carlow and Meath later this year.

The news comes as construction at the schools was put on hold earlier this year following the collapse of Carillion construction group.

It is hoped that three year of the schools will be completed by August, whilst the others will be completed by the end of the year.
