A long-awaited highway between Europe and China will soon be a reality.
The Meridan road, which will stretch 1250 miles when finished, will run on a westward direction from the Russian border with Kazakhstan and into China, thus creating a fast surface route to move goods between Europe and China.
The project will cost around $9.4bn and will be financed by both Russian and Chinese Government and private investors.
When complete, the Meridan road will significantly enhance vehicular access between mainland Europe and China.
