Revenue officers have seized contraband cigarettes, tobacco and vodka worth about €18,000 in Dublin today.
They raided a number of premises across the capital, scoring the haul of illegal products, plus a vehicle.
In total, officers recovered 23,420 contraband cigarettes including ‘Mayfair’, ‘Dorchester’, ‘Marlboro Gold’, ‘MG’, ‘Winston’, ‘Route 66’, ‘Jim’ and ‘821’ brands.
Also, about 6.6kgs of illegal tobacco – with brands including ‘Eastenders’, ‘Samson’, ‘Amber Leaf’ and ‘Flandria’ – was taken. Finally, 68 bottles of vodka suspected to be counterfeit were also seized.
