Tiernan O’Mahony and Bernard Daly, who previously worked at the now defunct Anglo Irish Bank, had been convicted last year for attempting to hide accounts that were connected to a senior figure at the bank from the Revenue Commissioner.
At the time, O’Mahony was sentenced to three years in prison, and Daly to two. Their convictions have now been overturned at the Court of Appeal, which means they are both free men.
Ex-Anglo CEO David Drumm was granted bail yesterday, after returning to Ireland from seven years in ‘voluntary exile.’
