They’re heroes. They’re putting themselves before others and many of them are coming out the worst of it.
In Ireland there’s now a total of 2,312 healthcare workers who have contracted covid-19, mostly from direct contact with patients that they were treating who already had coronavirus.
It’s emerged that there’s now 1,777 people in hospital due to coronavirus and that 261 of those people have been rushed into Intensive Care Units.
The government say that the lockdown measures will go on until May 5th but many feel that they will go on longer than that date.
