Coronavirus: Anger at the Irish government as two Irish people get infected from “community transmission”

In just one week, there’s 21 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Republic of Ireland.

The HSE confirmed on Sunday evening that there’s two more cases of coronavirus in the South and East of the country.

One is a woman in the east of the country and the other case is a male in hospital in the south.

It’s understood that both cases are what’s described as “community transmitted” cases meaning that they’re not from people who travelled abroad but rather through direct contact with someone who already has contracted the virus – more than likely from travelling back from Italy.

The HSE say that it’s likely there will be more cases confirmed in the coming days.
