Coronavirus: Churches stop “the sign of peace” during mass in an effort to contain any infection

Churches across Europe are not stopping the familiar “sign of peace” that takes place after the consecration and just before Holy Communion.

Church officials made the decision after the widespread outbreak of the coronavirus means that everyday shaking of hands is not advised for health authorities.
