Coronavirus: Conor McGregor makes video appeal to the Irish government to lockdown the country while donating €1 million

UFC Champion and MMA legend Conor McGregor has made an impassioned appeal to the Irish government to implement a “true lockdown” of the country to prevent the continuing spread of the Covid-19 virus.

McGregor appealed to President Higgins, Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces Mark Mellett, as well as “Leo, the two Simons, Micheál and Mary Lou” the Taoiseach, Tánaiste, Minister for Health, and leaders of Fianna Fail and Sinn Fein respectively.

The fighting expert went onto say:

“I know a good, tough fight when I see one, and we have one on our hands now. I want to call upon my people — the great people of Ireland. This fight needs us all. We’re all in the red corner together, awaiting the bell. So, let’s gather together and ring the bell ourselves, including the people of the rest of the world. A true lockdown must begin, and it must begin now — a lockdown together, a lockdown united.”

He has very generously also given a massive donation of €1 million to help with health equipment in fighting again covid-19.
