Police charge two men with attempted murder for failing to self isolate after testing positive for COVID-19

Police in South Africa have arrested two men after they refused to self isolate after testing positive for COVID-19.

It is understood the two men were charged after they allegedly failed to remain in self isolation despite warnings.

Police minister Bheki Cele confirmed the news by stating that the men deliberately moved around despite being ordered not to.

The charges come after South Africa introduced strict measures in an effort to combat the spread of the virus.

South Africa has reported 709 cases of the virus so far.
