Coronavirus: Dire prediction, as doctor says that Covid-19 could kill ‘up to 120,000 people’ here in Ireland

There is a grim prediction this morning, following claims by a doctor that ‘up to 120,000 people’ might die from coronavirus-related causes in Ireland, according to an article published by the Irish Mirror.

There have been twenty-one confirmed cases of the coronavirus across the country so far, but the number is likely to steadily rise over the next few weeks.

The latest infections are particularly concerning, as they happened as a result of ‘community transmission.’ In other words, the patients had no known history of travel to coronavirus hot zones, or contact with infected individuals

Meanwhile, the Irish Government has reacted to the deepening crisis by allowing hundreds of Italian nationals to move freely across the capital, and given the go-ahead to St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
