Coronavirus: Milan on lockdown as up to 10 million Italian people affected by quarantine measures




Up to 10 million Italians are going to be affected by drastic quarantine measures are to be imposed on Lombardy, Northern Italy in an effort to stop the practical pandemic that they country is experiencing with coronavirus.

Italian media is widely reporting that theĀ Italian government plans to quarantine the entire region of Lombardy around Milan to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

According to Italian media reports, the areas around Venice and the cities of North Parma and Rimini are also subject to restrictions.

A government draft by the Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera and other media states that entry and exit into the regions would be severely restricted until April 3.

The entire Lombardy region covers 10.4 million, according to the most recent census. Milan alone has some 1.4 million people.

It’s understood swimming pools, nightclubs and gyms are all closed while pubs and restaurants are allowed open if their patrons are spaced at least 1 metre a part from each other.
