The death toll resulting from the coronavirus outbreak has risen to 170, and the disease has now been detected in 16 countries, fuelling fears of a global pandemic.
The World Health Organization (WHO) will meet in Geneva today, to discuss the possibility of declaring a global emergency.
The WHO has already issued a directive for all governments to remain ‘on high alert’ and do everything they can to contain the spread of the virus.
