Coronavirus: Planned easing of lockdown on May 5 in jeopardy as widespread testing still not available in Ireland




The planned easing of lockdown measures on May 5 is now in jeopardy, as Ireland still lacks widespread Covid-19 testing capabilities.

It is understood that there’ll soon be a ‘review’ of the situation before a decision is taken.

The HSE intends to scale testing up to about 100,000 a week, but serious doubts remain about the organization’s ability to achieve that.
