Some horrific reports have emerged today, claiming that black cats are being boiled and turned into a paste-like substance to be sold as cure for Covid-19 in Vietnam.
According to an article published by Metro, animal activists have witnessed first hand instances of cats being boiled, skinned, and left to dry in the sun before the corpse is ground and turned into a substance that resembles a thick, brownish-black sauce. The stuff supposedly protects against catching the coronavirus.
It is understood that the barbaric practice commenced after a rumor spread around the country claiming that black cats offered ‘magic’ protection against Covid-19.
The product is reportedly being sold both at local stalls around the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi and online.
