A petition to strip Sir Richard Branson of his knighthood has reached over 13,000 signatures.
The initiative was launched after Mr. Branson asked the British Government for a £500m bailout for Virgin Atlantic, despite claims that he has not paid a cent of income tax in the UK for the last 14 years.
Mr. Branson uses the British Virgin Islands as tax base for his enterprises. The country is a well-known tax haven where no income tax, capital gains tax, VAT, or sales tax are collected.
The billionaire did offer Necker Island, the playground for the mega-rich, as collateral for the loan.
