The Department of Education has confirmed that schools and colleges will remain shut past the original March 29 date, according to an article published by the Irish Mirror.
It is unclear at this point whether or not schools will reopen before the end of the academic year, but it is understood that further information will be provided on this issue either later today or tomorrow, Wednesday.
