NHS representatives have said that some UK hospitals will run out of protective equipment ‘within 24-48’ hours, according to an article published on Sky News.
There have been repeated warnings about the chronic shortage of protective equipment across British hospitals since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Stocks now appear to be almost depleted, and as the situation deteriorates further, frontline staff have been told to ‘reuse’ material that would normally be single-use.
No fewer than 50 NHS staff have so far died from Covid-19 in the UK.
