South Africa has confirmed the first cases of ‘community transmission’ of the coronavirus.
It is understood that the patients are four children aged 5, 3, and 2. These are on top of other four cases -all adults-, also suspected of being infected by members of the local community.
None of the patients had travelled abroad or had known contact with people who had come from other countries.
The official figure of coronavirus infections now stands at 85.
